Triggers can start flows based on an event or schedule.

This article will show how to add a trigger to the flow you created. Once a flow is created, you can manually execute the flow to run or you can schedule the flow to automatically run based on a trigger. There are many trigger steps available.

Adding a Trigger Step

There are different types of triggers that can be used in one or more flows. A list of these can be seen in the image below.

A Schedule trigger will be used as an example. A schedule trigger allows you to set up the flow to run at a regular pre-determined time.

1. Click on the highlighted button to open a list of triggers.

2. Select the Schedule trigger.

3. Select from the Cron Tab option to select the required timeframe.

4. Click Save.

Adding multiple times to a schedule trigger

To select multiple times, press the Ctrl button on your keyboard and select the required times. The selected times will be displayed.

Edit a trigger

To edit a Trigger, click on the highlighted button to open the Trigger and chose the desired function to perform.

  • Click the Delete button to remove Trigger completely.

  • Click the Disable button to disable Trigger – This will keep the trigger but make it inactive in the flow.

  • Click the Detach button to detach Trigger – This will keep the trigger but make it inactive in the flow. You can only make it active again through the ReAttach button.

  • Click the ReAttach button to reattach Trigger – When you reattach a trigger, that trigger is deleted and then recreated as a new trigger.

Things to Try

  • Try another trigger, like an HTTP trigger.

  • Synatic allows for more than one trigger on a flow. Try adding multiple triggers.

That's it for now. Check back regularly for more Quickstart guides.
