Configure the Runs Control

In this article, each Ops Portal view section will be discussed in detail, covering the selections, settings, and options of the Runs control.

The Runs control creates a view that can list and monitor the executed historical Runs of all flows.

Creating a new Runs View

Go to the Operations Portal menu and select the Operations Portal Tutorial.

  1. Adjacent to the Views tab, click ⨁ to add a new View.

  2. Select Runs in the selection list.

3. Give the View a name and a meaningful description.


The Control type

Click on the Control field and select the Runs control to display a specifically identified historic run of the selected Flow. The Runs control window for this View opens and lets you edit the relevant values and options as described below.


The Flow

Each View created requires that a Synatic Flow is selected. You may create a new Flow or alternatively, you can select the Flow you want to use from the selection list.


The Solution

The Runs option requires that you select the Solution where the flow resides. Click the Solution field to select the Solution from the selection list.


Options

Select any of the following options to further define your view output.

  • Only for User - Select this option to show Runs only for the logged-in user.

  • Page Size - Select this option to set the page size for the displayed Run.

  • Condensed - Select this option to show only the list of Runs.

  • Mini View - Select this option to show only the Run header without the Flow canvas.

  • Hide Controls - Select this option to hide the selection options.

  • Allow Events - This option will let you view any events that may have occurred during the run.

  • Allow Records - This option will let you view any records that may have relevance during the run.


Save the View

When you have completed the View's configuration, click the Save View button.


Test the View

It is always advisable to test each view you create in Synatic's Ops Portal.

1. Select the Ops Portal option in the Account menu to open the Operations Portal. This is also the method used by the operations personnel to process these views.

2. Select the Runs view you created from the list of available views.

3. The View executes the assigned Flow immediately and displays a list of runs and also the associated resultant statistics that were executed by the Flow.

4. The Run list displays the following columns:

  • Date - The date and time on which the run was executed processed.

  • Flow - The name of the Flow is a confirmation of the Synatic Flow that was executed.

  • Records Completed - The number of records that were processed.

  • Record Failures - The number of records that failed the process.

  • Event Errors - The number of errors that occurred during an event.

5. The display also provides a set of filter options that can be used to help you find a specific run that requires attention.

Filter options

  • Run Status - Select one of the following options Completed, Failed, Completed with Errors to list runs with the selected status.

  • Show Parent Runs - Select one of the following options Show Parent Runs only or Show Parent & Child Runs to list the relevant runs.

  • Start Date of Filter search - Enter the date to start your search.

  • End Date of Filter search - Enter the date for the end of your search.
