Salesforce Platform Event Trigger Step

The Salesforce Platform Event Trigger step is used to trigger a flow using a Salesforce Platform Event.

The Salesforce Platform Event Trigger step will trigger a flow whenever an event is dispatched on Salesforce. The event must be created on Salesforce in order to use this trigger.

Adding a Salesforce Platform Event Trigger Step

To add a Salesforce Platform Event Trigger step in a flow, follow the below instructions:

1. Click on the plus button in the Trigger step as shown in the below image.

2. The below page will appear. Select Salesforce Platform Event as illustrated in the image below.

Configuring a Salesforce Platform Event Trigger Step

Illustrated in the below image is the configuration that is available in the Salesforce Platform Event Trigger step.

A connection is required for this step. Select an existing connection by clicking on the dropdown arrow as highlighted in the image above.

Event – The platform event that will trigger the flow.

Disable event replays checkbox

If the Disable Event Replays checkbox is ticked while the step is disabled, only the new events will trigger once its enabled again. Events that were missed during the downtime will not come as an event. If unticked, events during the downtime will be replayed by default.

After saving the configuration on the step, click the Salesforce Platform Event Trigger step again to edit the Salesforce Platform Event.

Using a Salesforce Platform Event Trigger

  • Save button – Saves the trigger step configuration.

  • Detach button – Detach the trigger. This will keep the trigger but make it inactive in the flow. You can only make it active again through the ReAttach button.

  • ReAttach button – Reattach the trigger. This will make the trigger active again.

  • Delete button – Removes the trigger completely.

  • Disable button ­ – Disable the trigger. This will keep the trigger but make it inactive in the flow.
