AL3 Writer Step

The AL3 Writer step is used to create an Acord AL3 file.

The AL3 writer creates an Acord AL3 file from the data that has been mapped to the AL3 groups and elements. It generate the AL3 groups (lines) in their respective positions within the file, as well as the specific positions of the elements within each line.

Illustrated in the below image is an example of a flow where a Buffer is used as a source step. A Super Mapper is used to map the fields to the AL3 groups/lines. The AL3 Writer Step produces the AL3 file which can be downloaded using the Run File destination step.

The image below is the output of the data that is in the Buffer source step.

The Super Mapper mapper step is used to map the source fields (fields on the left) to the destination fields that are required (AL3 groups/lines) to created the AL3 file as illustrated in the image below.

Adding the AL3 Writer Step

To add the AL3 Writer in a flow, follow the below instructions:

1. Click on the highlighted plus icon as shown in the below image.

2. The below page will appear. Select or search for a Writer step to pull out the source data. Click on the Writer tab and select AL3 as shown in the image below.

Configuring an AL3 Writer Step

Illustrated in the below image is the configuration that is available in the AL3 writer step. Input the Worksheet Name as highlighted.

Worksheet Name โ€“ The name to call the worksheet for the AL3 file.

The Run File step is shown below. The File Type has been selected as Txt.

Using an AL3 Writer Step

Once the configuration is saved on the AL3 Writer step, follow the instructions below:

1. Click the Execute Flow button shown in the image below:

2. Click the Create Run button.

3. Once the run has completed successfully, click on the processed run and then click the download button on the Run File step to download the output file as highlighted in the image below.

The image below shows the AL3 file that was created.
