Zip Writer Step

The Zip Writer step is used to create a ZIP file with records or with ONE file.

Illustrated in the below image is a flow where the Record Generator is used to generate records. A Run File destination step to deliver an output file that can be downloaded.

Adding a ZIP Writer Step

To add a ZIP Writer step in a flow, follow the below instructions:

1. Click on the highlighted icon as shown in the below image.

2. The below page will appear. Select or search for a Writer step to pull out the source data. Click on the Writer tab and select ZIP as shown in the image below.

Configuring a ZIP Writer Step

Illustrated in the below image is the configuration that is available in the ZIP Writer step.

Input section – The object input to use which can either be the Record, Output, Result or Original Record.

File Name field – The name of the file to create. This field is required before the step can be saved. Zip Test has been used as an example of a file name as highlighted in the image above.

Compression Level checkbox – The level of compression to use. The compression level is set at 5 by default when the ZIP Writer step is added.



Using a ZIP Writer Step

The image below shows data in the Record Generator step.

The Run File step is shown below. The File Type has been selected as Zip.

Viewing the created Zip file

1. Click the Execute Flow button shown in the image below.

2. Click the Create Run button.

3. Once the run has completed successfully, click on the processed run and then click the download button on the Run File step to download the output file as highlighted in the image below.

The image below shows the ZIP file that is saved to the local machine.
