A brief description of what is new in Synatic Designer Web.

Designer Web has some new, exciting features. These are briefly described below.

1. Designer Web Navigation

The designer web has a brand-new look and feel. The link below will assist with navigating and finding all the required concepts.

2. Step Browser

The Step Browser tab shows all the available steps. The steps are grouped into categories as shown. The selected category will be displayed. There is also an option to search for a step using the search bar.

Click on the information icon on a step to open it and see more information on it.


3. Source Query

The Source Query tab is used to query a Source step. It is located in the Tools tab of the Menu Bar. There is a search bar available to search for a Source step to query. Click on the search bar to select a Source step; they will be viewed in alphabetical order. Alternatively, type a Source step in the bar.

In the example below, a Record Generator is queried. Click on the Run Source button to query the Source step. Click on the save button to name and save the Source Query. All saved queries can be accessed in the My Files Menu Tab. The query results are shown on the right side of the screen.

4. Mapper Query

The Mapper Query tab is used to query a Mapper step. There is a search bar available to search for a Mapper step to query. Click on the search bar to select a Mapper step; they will be viewed in alphabetical order. Alternatively, type a Mapper step in the bar.

In the example below, a Field Mapper step is queried. Click on the Green button to query the Mapper step. Click on the save button to name and save the Mapper Query. All saved queries can be accessed in the My Files Menu Tab. The query results are shown on the right side of the screen below Mapper step configuration.

5. Debug Calculator

The Calculator Debugger is used to query any data in the calculator step. Type your input data in the field on the left and the calculator code on the right. The results will be displayed as shown.

6. Task Bar

The Task Bar has some new features which allow you to open recently closed tabs and to add new concepts. The Task Bar is located at the top of the screen as shown in the image below.

All open tabs will be shown here for easy navigation between the different tabs. Click on the arrow on the left side of the Task Bar (shown in the image below) to see a list of the open tabs.

Reopen Closed Tabs

There is an option to reopen recently closed tabs. Click on the Reopen recent button and all the closed tabs will be reopened.

Click on the three dotted buttons on tab as illustrated in the image below to access more option such as opening in a new tab, closing the current tab, closing all other tabs, or close all tabs.

7. Add New Concepts Button

There is now a button that can be used to add new concepts. Click on the plus button on the right side of the Task Bar, next to the Account Menu (shown in the image below) to select a concept to be added.

Select the Solution to add the new concept to. The Global Solution will be selected by default. In the example below, a flow is being added.

8. Ops Portal User Groups

There is now an option to add User Groups to an Ops View. This can be found in the Ops View tab of the Menu Bar as shown in the image below.

To add a User group to the Ops View:

  • Click on the User Groups tab to access it (1)

  • Select the required User Group from the drop menu (2)

  • Click on the plus button to ass the User Group to the Ops View (3)

9. Importing - New Steps

There are guided steps that have been added to importing solutions or flows. his can be found in the Solutions tab of the Menu Bar as shown in the image below. In this example, a Solution is being imported.

To import a Solution:

  • Click on Import Solution (1)

  • Select to upload the file from your local machine (2)

  • Click on the Next Button to move to the next steps (3)

Once a step is completed, it will be ticked to show it has been completed. There will also be an option to return to a previous step.

10. Step Preview Button

Steps in a flow can be previewed. To preview a step, click on Preview button (the eye icon) underneath the step as shown in the image below. A small window will appear with a preview of the step configuration. Click on the eye icon again to close the preview.

Some steps, such as the Pass Through and Combiner, do not have user-defined configuration so there will be no preview option available. All steps with the preview option will have the option underneath.

11. Multiple Test Results

Multiple Test Results are now shown for each time a test is done to the flow. They will be available next to the Runs button below the flow as shown in the image below. The tests will be named in the order which they tests were done.

If tested times, three test results will be available as shown in the example below. Only one test result can be shown at a time. Click on a required test to view its results.
