Designer Web has some new, exciting features. These are briefly described below.
1. Designer Web Navigation
The designer web has a brand-new look and feel. The link below will assist with navigating and finding all the required concepts.
2. Step Browser
The Step Browser tab shows all the available steps. The steps are grouped into categories as shown. The selected category will be displayed. There is also an option to search for a step using the search bar.
Click on the information icon on a step to open it and see more information on it.
In addition, there is a Sort By button that allows you to sort the steps by Title (Ascending or Descending), Type, or Sequence.
3. Source Query
The Source Query tab is used to query a Source step. It is located in the Tools tab of the Menu Bar. There is a search bar available to search for a Source step to query. Click on the search bar to select a Source step; they will be viewed in alphabetical order. Alternatively, type a Source step in the bar.
In the example below, a Record Generator is queried. Click on the Run Source button to query the Source step. Click on the save button to name and save the Source Query. All saved queries can be accessed in the My Files Menu Tab. The query results are shown on the right side of the screen.
4. Mapper Query
The Mapper Query tab is used to query a Mapper step. There is a search bar available to search for a Mapper step to query. Click on the search bar to select a Mapper step; they will be viewed in alphabetical order. Alternatively, type a Mapper step in the bar.
In the example below, a Field Mapper step is queried. Click on the Green button to query the Mapper step. Click on the save button to name and save the Mapper Query. All saved queries can be accessed in the My Files Menu Tab. The query results are shown on the right side of the screen below Mapper step configuration.
5. Debug Calculator
The Calculator Debugger is used to query any data in the calculator step. Type your input data in the field on the left and the calculator code on the right. The results will be displayed as shown.
6. Task Bar
The Task Bar has some new features which allow you to open recently closed tabs and to add new concepts. The Task Bar is located at the top of the screen as shown in the image below.
All open tabs will be shown here for easy navigation between the different tabs. Click on the arrow on the right side of the Task Bar (shown in the image below) to see a list of the open tabs.
Closing Tabs
There are two different options for closing tabs. The first option is to Close Others. This will close other tabs except the one where the task bar was open. The second is to Close All. This will close all tabs.
Reopening Tabs
There is an option to reopen recently closed tabs. Click on the Reopen recent button to reopen all closed tabs.
7. Add New Concepts Button
There is now a button that can be used to add new concepts. Click on the plus button on the right side of the Task Bar, next to the Account Menu (shown in the image below) to select a concept to be added.
Select the Solution to add the new concept to. The Global Solution will be selected by default. In the example below, a flow is being added.
8. Ops Portal User Groups
There is now an option to add User Groups to an Ops View. This can be found in the Ops View tab of the Menu Bar as shown in the image below.
To add a User group to the Ops View:
Click on the User Groups tab to access it (1)
Select the required User Group from the drop menu (2)
Click on the plus button to ass the User Group to the Ops View (3)
9. Importing - New Steps
There are guided steps that have been added to importing solutions or flows. his can be found in the Solutions tab of the Menu Bar as shown in the image below. In this example, a Solution is being imported.
To import a Solution:
Click on Import Solution (1)
Select to upload the file from your local machine (2)
Click on the Next Button to move to the next steps (3)
Once a step is completed, it will be ticked to show it has been completed. There will also be an option to return to a previous step.
10. Flow Name and ID Copy
There are Flow Name and Flow ID copy buttons on the Flow Builder which makes it easier to copy. These are located at the top left side of the Flow Builder a sshown in the image below.
11. Multiple Test Results
Multiple Test Results are now shown for each time a test is done to the flow. They will be available next to the Runs button below the flow as shown in the image below. The tests will be named in the order in which they were done.
If tested three times, three test results will be available as shown in the example below. Only one test result can be shown at a time. Click on a required test to view its results.
12. Reset Flow Sequence
There is a Reset Flow Sequence option on flow. Click on the menu option next to Flow name (1) and then click on the More Options button (2). From there, click Reset Current Sequence (3) as shown in the image below.
13. Highlight on Steps
Highlight on Steps Containing Error
If a run has an error, there step which contains the error will be highlighted as shown in the image below (outlined in blue).
Check the Step before or After the highlighted one because it is possible that the error logged if from a previous or the next Step.
Due to records being processed in parallel and some steps running at the same time, the error could be picked up by the nearest error handler in the stack.
There is also an Error button (outlined in red in the image above). Clicking on this button will show error details which can be copied or exported if required.
Highlight Run Event Steps
Run Event steps are also highlighted in the flow. To see a Run Event step, follow these instructions:
14. Data Gateway
The Data Gateway menu can be used to create a New Data Gateway. Click on Data Gateway the menu bar (1), then click the select the plus button (2) to access the Create Data Gateway button (3) a shown in the image below.
Configure the Data Gateway as required. There new options that can configured which include Remove_id, Unwind joins, Optimize joins, and Optimize pipeline.
15. REST View
The Rest View has a new look. The endpoints have been structured differently as shown in the image below. Click on the a required tab to access and configure.
16. Flow Triggers Page - Connections Column
The Flow Triggers page now has a Connection Column which shows connections in the flows as shown in the image below.
17. Used By Flows Tab
Entities which are used by flows are shown in the Used By tab. For example, when entity such as a connection is open, click on the "Used By Flows" tab to see a list of all flows that use that connection, as shown in the image below.
18. Comments in the Platform
The comments feature is now available in each window that is open and is located on the top right of the open window, next to the close button, as shown in the image below. Previously, this was only in the side bar. Click on the Comment button to add comments to that open window.
19. Connections Version Management
Connections version can now be managed. If a change in a connection's configuration is made, that can be saved as a new version of the connection. Follow these instructions to create a new Connection version:
In the Config tab, edit the required configuration.
Click on the Version Tab (1). This will show that the version is uncommitted as shown in the image below. Click on the Deploy button (2) to deploy and create a new version.
Click on the OK button (3) to confirm.
The new version will be displayed in the Versions tab list as shown in the image below. All versions can be deployed and used. To select a connection to use, click on the deploy button. An active connection's deploy button will be inactive because that connection is already is use.
20. Relay Version Selection
When creating a Relay, there is an option to select the version to use. Click on Connection in the Menu bar (1), then click the select the plus button (2) to access the Create Relay button (3) as shown in the image below.
Click on the dropdown menu and select to either use a V2 or V3 Relay as shown in the image below.
